Four lighted courts in a hub for San Gabriel Valley tennis. I wrote about George Elder Park in my LA Times story on the best courts in Los Angeles for making new tennis friends,
I can vouch for it because George Elder Park is where I met my tennis friend Phillip Kim, who has enriched my life not only with low-key tennis tips (you might consider sometimes hitting cross-court) but also with funk-soul recommendations (all in on Brothers Johnson) and nutritional guidance as well (perhaps eat some greens before the meal, it’s good for the gut microbiome). Phillip has enriched not only my gut microbiome but my entire life, and our friendship would never have happened had I not broadened my tennis horizons by going off on my journey to experience all these courts — so thank you, Coach PK, thank you tennis, thank you Los Angeles — and Monterey Park.

You could not miss the upsurge of love and support for Monterey Park tennis, as expressed by the giant crowd and everybody rockin’ their best having-fun, participating-and-cooperating, sweaty-athletic vibe.
