Four courts in rough but playable shape. No lights. Charms include a lakeside location within the iconic East Side park and Spanish-style gates between courts. One big shady oak tree; otherwise you’re in for a lot of sun. Close to public transit — the 71 rolls right by and stops at Plaza del la Raza.

Playable, but often dirty. Haven’t been repainted in a long time so make sure you got some grippy shoes.

My new tennis friend Bryant asked me a question that has stuck with me while we were warming up at the 113th court on my quest, Lincoln Park in East LA. This was after I commented on how sporting it was of him to hit the ball right back to me when he had a wide-open court.
Bryant said, “What do I win when I win?”
