City Terrace Park, East LA

This is a beautiful park with many community services. Its single tennis court would be a gem if not for the flood damage that has left a giant splotch of sediment in the middle of the court.

It is still theoretically playable, and the friendly folks in the park office will happily unlock the gate. They suggested calling the East Division of LA Parks and Rec at 323-260-2360 if you want to advocate for the court’s repair.

Meanwhile, Belvedere Park or Ruben Salazar Park are better choices to get a game in nearby. I would still recommend swinging by City Terrace Park for the view, the vibe, and the poured concrete enclosure of the basketball court. I also recommend nearby Mexes Cafe for quality snacking, caffeination, and representation.
