Meanwhile, these tennis courts have the classic green-on-green surface, ample benches, intact windscreens, everything you could want including a lively pick-up game culture in the morning.

I come out smoking. Ace that first serve. The other guys immediately start calling me Marko. I'm scampering, I'm volleying. They’re calling me Marcus Aurelius. I'm tapping racquets and grinning with my partner. We go up a quick 3-0. These guys are non-stop with the patter, great shot, great hands, great idea, great everything.
Things go downhill after that for us score-wise. This will happen. “I am having fun!” my partner affirms many times, downhill notwithstanding.
“That’s what it’s all about,” I affirm.
