Eleven premium courts in a beautiful park with mountain views. I wrote about El Cariso in my LA Times story on the best tennis courts for making new friends, because every time I told people I am on a quest to play every public tennis court in LA, people familiar with the North Valley always said in such a sincerely admiring tone, “You have to check out El Cariso.” They were all right. El Cariso is a great example of free public tennis at its best.

The tennis part of this adventure was great and the bus part was even greater. I am a lucky man to be experiencing this much joy several times a week.
